1809 50C III Edge, O-107, R.2, MS63 PCGS. Ex: Link. Dr.
Charles Link is one of best known collectors of Bust half dollars
by Overton variety. This is an early die state example without the
network of cracks sometimes seen near star 12. It is tied for third
place for O-107 in the Autumn 2021 Stephen J. Herrman Condition
Census. Autumn-brown and gunmetal toning fills the borders, while
the fields and devices are dove-gray. The strike shows
incompleteness only on the upper left stars and the lower right
reverse. Both sides are free from relevant contact.Ex: Regency Auction XIX (Legend, 12/2016), lot 290.
