Description

1818/7 Large 8 Half Dollar, MS62
Richly Toned O-101a Coin, Ex: Link

1818/7 50C Large 8, O-101a, R.1, MS62 PCGS. Ex: Link. The PCGS CoinFacts plate coin. The hallmark of this 1818/7 O-101a half dollar is its spectacular multicolor toning. Violet-gray and peach-orange centers turn to shades of ice-blue, mint-green, gold, and rose toward the borders on each side. The coin is sharply struck and in a late die state with cracks through star 11 and at the lower reverse. Marks are well-hidden by the rich patina. This piece appears to have spent considerable time in an old collector envelope. Eye appeal is fantastic, and a premium bid is in order.
