1815 25C B-1, R.1, MS62 PCGS. Tompkins Die State 5/3, lapped dies with the clashing above the date gone. The 1815 quarter was the first implementation of the Capped Bust design for the denomination and has the third-lowest mintage of the issue, with a total of 89,235 pieces. This uniquely appealing piece displays frosty pewter-gray luster with notes of gold dotted throughout. Exactly 50 examples have been graded in Mint State by PCGS, this coin representing an ideal example for date collectors (3/26).
