1815 B-1 Quarter, MS65
Census Level Example
1815 25C B-1, R.1, MS65 NGC. This early die state piece has
delicate obverse and reverse clash marks. Coinage production was
minimal at the U.S. Mint in 1815, limited to quarter dollars, half
dollars, and half eagles. Little precious metal was deposited for
coinage, and the supply of copper was exhausted the previous year.
Less than $50,000 face value in coinage was struck that year. The
total included 89,235 quarter dollars, and most of those coins were
struck at the request of a New Orleans bank. This satiny Gem has
brilliant silver luster and delicate gold toning. The devices are
boldly detailed with exceptional eye appeal. A few dark rifts are
noted, primarily on the obverse. Census: 8 in 65 (2 in 65+), 6
