1815 25C "E" Counterstamp--Improperly Cleaned--NCS. AU Details. B-1, R.1. A well struck example with a somewhat glossy obverse. The left border has light golden toning, while the remainder of the partly lustrous surfaces remain brilliant. Many numismatists believe the Economite commune in Pennsylvania counterstruck these pieces as a voting measure.
