Description
1815 XF 40 Cleaned. B-1, R.1, the only variety of the year. First year of the Large Size Capped Bust design and a date that has always carried a modest premium over the more commonly seen issues of this relatively short-lived type. The bright silvery-sheen from cleaning is overlaid by an even layer of golden patina that gives the coin a more natural appearance. A small planchet flaw is noted on the back of the cheek of Liberty, this being the only mentionable post-striking defect.
