Description

1818 25C B-10, R.3, XF40 PCGS. Tompkins Die State 4/3. Double die clashing of the shield at the ear (ear bars) and a bold reverse die crack from the rim through 2 in the denomination, through the claw and feather, and to the left shield edge confirm the late die state of Browning-10. Golden-brown toning is faintly luminous and highly attractive on this smooth XF example. Sharp definition on the motifs and nearly mark-free fields show only moderate wear on the high points.
