1818 B-2 Quarter Dollar, MS63
Outstanding Type Candidate

1818 25C B-2, R.1, MS63 NGC. The Browning-2 die pair of 1818 is frequently encountered and an excellent candidate for a date or type collection. The Capped Bust design for quarter dollars was first issued in 1815 and next in 1818 following the fire that halted most of the Mint's operations in 1816. This Select Mint State example nicely represents the second year of coinage with a bold strike and delicate gold toning over its satiny silver luster.
