Early Die State

1818 25C MS65 PCGS. CAC. B-2, R.1. The B-2 die marriage is unknown with a perfect obverse die. The die crack over the cap from star 7 to star 10 is always present, and eventually extends to star 12. The reverse of this early die state specimen is perfect. This piece, housed in a first-generation PCGS holder, ranks among the 10 finest 1818 B-2 quarters.
The surfaces on this gorgeous Gem display frosty luster with bold design elements, complementing impressive grayish-violet toning and gold accents. One of the finest examples available for the advanced collector. Population: 20 in 65, 5 finer (11/11).(Registry values: P2)
