Description
Originally Toned 1818 Quarter Dollar
1818 MS 64 NGC. B-4, R.1. A darkly toned specimen, with flashes of iridescent gold and green on the rims. A bit softly struck on Liberty's hair curls, but well brought up elsewhere, and a choice example of this underrated in this all-too-often overlooked series. Through the toning, one can only guess at the a soft, frosted mint luster suggested by the level of flash remaining. There are no reportable abrasions on either side. The softness of highpoint details is a minor consideration overall, as the surfaces are obviously original.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23RH, PCGS# 5322, GSID# 5062)
