Description

1818/5 Quarter, B-1, MS62
Original Toning

1818/5 25C B-1, R.2, MS62 PCGS. Tompkins Die State 2/2, clashed. Two die pairings employ this overdated obverse (B-1 and -3), and these represent about a third of the Mint State 1818 quarter population. This B-1 example is well-struck and minimally abraded, with satiny mint luster. Mint-gold and sea-green peripheries lighten to lavender-gray and amber hues in the central regions.
