1818/5 B-3 Quarter, MS64
Smooth and Attractively Toned
1818/5 25C B-3, R.3, MS64 PCGS. Tompkins Die State 3/2.
Chestnut-gold toning accompanies lustrous and uncommonly smooth
surfaces. Peripheral elements are fully struck, though inexactness
of impression is seen on the joint of the left (facing) wing. B-3
shares the same obverse die as the 1818/5 B-1, but later die states
of B-3 show minimal evidence of a 5 underdigit.Ex: Internet Auction #804 (David Lawrence, 5/2014), lot 10113.
