Description

1820 B-2 Quarter Dollar, MS66
Possibly the Finest Large 0

1820 25C Large 0, B-2, R.2, MS66 PCGS. Both dies are perfect with a short die line from an olive leaf to the border, a constant from this die pair. This impressive Gem is perhaps the finest known circulation-strike 1820 Large 0 quarter dollar. Two or three similar pieces rival this example for finest known status. Both sides have frosty and natural silver-gray and iridescent toning over brilliant luster and bold design motifs. NGC has certified one MS66 and PCGS has examined three other pieces in the same grade. Neither grading service has certified a finer circulation strike (6/15).
