Choice BU 1820 Quarter Dollar
1820 MS 60. Large 0. B-2, R.2. A well centered piece with noteworthy striking weakness on the hair curls and the eagle's right (facing) talon. The balance of the devices, however, are nicely (although not fully) struck and the surfaces carry an even blanket of milky-tan patination. With vibrant undertones of orange and purple hues, this toning obscures the numerous surface abrasions and gives this specimen the appeal of a higher grade. Early Capped Bust quarter issues are significantly scarcer in Mint State than their reduced size counterparts of 1831-1838 and are always in demand from type collectors.Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 5329, GSID# 5066)
