1820 B-3 Medium 0 Quarter, AU58
Gorgeous Golden-Gray Toning
1820 25C Medium 0, B-3, R.3, AU58 PCGS. Tompkins Die State
2/1. Identified as a Large 0 quarter on the PCGS holder, but it is
the Browning-3 Medium 0 variety. The B-3 die marriage becomes
scarce in Uncirculated condition, making this near-Mint example a
good alternative. Original, golden-gray toning spreads evenly over
both sides, with russet-gray accents around the raised elements.
Mint luster gleams through the rich patina. Marks are light and
wispy on either side, with a toned-over streak between star 10 and
Liberty's curls.Ex: Dallas Signature (Heritage, 12/2019), lot 3712.
