Description

1821 25C AU50 NGC. B-3, R.2. Tompkins Die State 2/1. There are die scratches between stars 2 and 3, star 7 points to the headband, and a defect appears on the underside of the scroll under the S in PLURIBUS. "Bars" from die clashing at Liberty's ear and die rust between the leaves and the 2 in the denomination confirm the die states. Silver-white surfaces display a splash of violet in the obverse center. Well defined except for some of the star centers. A scattering of light circulation marks is visible on each side.(Registry values: P2)
