1821 25C B-2, High R.4, AU55 PCGS. Tompkins Die State 1.5/2.
The late die state with a vertical crack behind Liberty's eye and
speckles of rust on the reverse margin. Light to medium cream-gray
and olive-gold toning accompanies this briefly circulated better
variety Bust quarter. Smooth save for two hair-thin marks beneath
star 10 and concealed on the drapery below the bust tip.Ex: I. Kleinman, 7/1989; Purchased for $2,500 from Jason Carter and Summit Rare Coins, 3/2008; Denis W. Loring Capped Bust Quarter Collection; to the present consignor.
