Description

1821 B-3 Quarter, MS64
Richly Toned, Well Preserved

1821 25C B-3, R.2, MS64 NGC. Tompkins Die State 6/1. A later die state example that exhibits a bold radial crack through star 12 and clash marks from the arrowheads near star 8. Among the finest survivors of the Browning-3 variety. A few tiny ticks are present on the field below the beak, but contact is minimal overall, and the blanket of autumn-brown and sea-green toning is clearly original. The NGC insert is autographed by Guide Book Editor Emeritus Kenneth Bressett.
