1821 25C MS64 NGC. B-3, R.3. Die State a. Deep purple, golden-brown and apple-green toning blankets this intricately struck representative. The obverse fields are distinctly prooflike. Prominent die lines near stars 2 and 3 are as made, and diagnostic evidence of die clash is confirmed by bars at the ear. Light marks beneath the eye will be missed by most. Struck from lightly rusted reverse dies between 2 and leaves. This example is the sixth finest 1821 B-3 quarter, according to the Rea-Koenings-Haroutunian Census published in Early Quarter Dollars of the United States Mint.(Registry values: P2)
