Lustrous and Well-Struck

1822 25C MS62 PCGS. B-1, R.2. This is the more available by far of the two known varieties for the year 1822, showing the normal denomination on reverse and both sharing the common 1822-dated obverse. This piece, certified in a PCGS first-generation small holder, is a lustrous and well-struck ivory-cream-gray example. A few contact marks account for the grade, chiefly a vertical scrape through the left obverse field and scattered smaller marks.(Registry values: P3)
