Description

1824/2 Quarter, B-1, VF25
Appealing Surfaces

1824/2 25C B-1, R.3, VF25 PCGS. This is the only known variety for the 1824 quarter, employing a leftover 1822 head die that was overdated 1824. A die line left into the field from the lowest arrowhead identifies the reverse. This issue had a mintage of 168,000 pieces, but is seldom offered in high grade. This mid-grade circulated piece delivers pleasing eye appeal, with warm amber-gold and lilac hues in the recesses and lighter battleship-gray color over the relief elements. The borders are strong and the devices show light, even wear.
