    Description

    1824/2 Capped Bust Quarter, B-1, VF30
    Low-Mintage Better Date

1824/2 25C VF30 PCGS. B-1, R.3. The mintage of 1824/2 Capped Bust quarters was not recorded, but Steve Tompkins speculates that the 16,000 pieces delivered on December 31, 1823 might represent the entire production of 1824-dated coins. Only one die variety is known for the date. This evenly worn specimen retains all major design features in outline, and most of the interior detail is still present. The surfaces display pleasing gray, gold, and steel-blue patina. Population: 10 in 30, 45 finer (5/12).
    From The Norva Collection.(Registry values: P4) (NGC ID# 23RR, PCGS# 5335)
