1825/3 25C MS61 NGC. B-2, R.2. This is the variety that has always been known as 1825 over 3, and is from the same obverse die as the "1825 over 4" variety, catalogued as Browning-3. An example of the B-3 variety is also offered in the present sale. Take a close look at both, and you will see the two different underdates visible. On this example, the 3 is clearly visible, however, there is only a slight trace of a 4. The B-3 example has the 4 clearly visible, with only slight traces of a 3. This example is lustrous with light silver surfaces framed by golden-brown and pale blue toning along the borders.(#5338)
