1825/4/(2) 25C B-2, R.2, AU55 PCGS Secure. Tompkins Die State 1/1, the usually seen perfect die state. All 1825 quarters are overdates with more than one underdigit, though the Guide Book distinguishes the very scarce B-1 (as 1825/4) from the more available B-2 and B-3 (as 1825/2). The present richly detailed example displays ample semiprooflike luster. The mahogany-gold and sea-green surfaces are generally smooth aside from a tick above star 8.Purchased from Numismatic Services Inc., 8/2004, for $1,375; Denis W.
