Blended Original Toning

1825/4/(2) 25C B-2, R.2, MS63 NGC. A moderately available Guide Book variety, with the 8 in the date recut and the 5 apparently punched over an underlying 4. This Select Mint State example is well-struck, with blended olive, pale amber, and golden-gray hues. The surfaces are smooth, with no obtrusive abrasions -- only a few minor marks on the cheek are noted. Soft luster resides beneath the patina, but is slightly muted by the rich overlay.
