Description
1825/4/(2) 25C B-2, R.2, XF40 PCGS Secure. Tompkins Die State 1/3. The scarce intermediate die state with a delicate crack through the arrowheads to the rim near the final A in AMERICA. A cream-gray representative with plentiful hints of luster at the borders. We note a few hair-thin marks on the reverse, including a line left of the 2 in 25 C.Ex: Evans, 8/1991; Jules Reiver Collection (Heritage, 1/2006), lot 22405, which realized $1,840; Denis W. Loring Capped Bust Quarter Collection; to the present consignor.
