Description
1825/4 B-2 Capped Bust Quarter, MS63
Semiprooflike, Nicely Toned
1825/4/(2) 25C MS63 PCGS. CAC. B-2, R.2. Die State a.
Variously referred to as 1825/4/3 (as on the PCGS holder) or
1825/4/2 (per the Rory R. Rea et al. reference) or simply 1825/4
(per the 2015 Guide Book), this is the B-2 die pair
confirmed by the position of star 13 on the obverse and a high
denomination on the reverse. Light, multihued toning graces the
semiprooflike obverse, with a deeper crescent of color at the right
margin. The reverse is iridescent with lustrous, lilac-gray shades.
Boldly struck and attractive, with only a few light marks.
