1828 25C AU 58 PCGS. B-4, R.3. Although not widely recognized as such, this low mintage (102,000 pieces) Capped Bust quarter is a difficult coin to locate in circulated grades near the Mint State threshold. This semi-prooflike example exhibits a sharp strike and golden-gray patina that deepens to charcoal hues near the reverse rim.
