Description

1831 25C Large Letters, B-6, R.3, AU58 PCGS. Tompkins Die State 1/1. A bluish-gray splash of toning crosses Liberty's neck, with golden-gray shades covering the rest of the obverse. Gunmetal-blue toning at the reverse margin yields to rose-gray shades at the center. The Browning-6 variety displays Large Letters and Large (Thin) Arrowheads on the reverse, with the second 1 of the date partially beneath the curl above. Mint luster remains beneath the toning of this nearly Uncirculated Bust quarter. Population (all Large Letters varieties): 11 in 58, 31 finer (4/16).
