1831 B-4 Quarter, MS63
Excellent Capped Bust Type Coin
1831 25C Small Letters, B-4, R.1, MS63 NGC. Tompkins Die
State 1/2. A short die crack from the bottom reverse rim tangent to
the opening of C in 25C ends at the branch tip to confirm the B-4
variety. Reddish-gold toning at the obverse margin surrounds the
frosted, lightly toned interior of this Select Uncirculated Bust
quarter. The reverse combines cobalt-blue and amber-gold toning at
the margins to frame the frost-white eagle. The 5 in the
denomination is recut at its base. The coin is needle-sharp on both
