Description

Satiny 1832 B-2 Quarter, MS64

1832 25C MS64 PCGS. B-2, R.2. The obverse has a fine die crack from star 13 to star 12, almost reaching star 11. Two 1832 varieties are known from a single obverse die. The reverse dies are called Large Arrows and Small Arrows. The Large Arrows variety, B-1, is more plentiful and it is identified by arrowheads that nearly touch the border. A glass may be necessary to see that they are actually separated from the border. The Small Arrows variety, B-2, has arrowheads that are distant from the border. This pleasing MS64 falls at the low end of the Condition Census for the variety. The surfaces have satiny luster with ivory and gold on the obverse and deeper steel-blue on the reverse. Population: 11 in 64, 2 finer (8/09).(Registry values: P2)
