Description
1834 Quarter Dollar, Sharp MS63
B-3, Lightly Toned, CAC
1834 25C B-3, R.3, MS63 PCGS. CAC. Tompkins Die State 2/2,
die clashing is seen on both sides. This 1834 B-3 quarter flashes
glimpses of reflectivity within the protected areas. Silver-gray
patina reveals undertones of powder-blue in the fields with
fleeting emerald-gold and violet hues on the high points. The
luminous devices are generally well-struck, allowing for some
softness on a few obverse stars and at high points on the eagle.
Although the variety is not fully attributed in the population
data, B-3 is elusive in Mint State and we are aware of only two
finer examples on the Rea-Koenings-Haroutunian census (5/26). CAC
endorsement adds to this coin's bold appeal.From The Grand Street Collection.
