Description

1834 B-4 Quarter, MS63
Shattered Reverse Die

1834 25C B-4, R.1, MS63 PCGS. The reverse has several die cracks that are usually seen on even the earliest die states of this plentiful variety. As the only use of the reverse die, some of the reverse cracks probably occurred during the hardening stage before the die actually saw use. This Select Mint State example has satin luster with untoned ivory surfaces and scattered grade-consistent marks.
