1834 Quarter, Lightly Toned MS64
B-4, Choice Type Coin
1834 25C B-4, R.1, MS64 PCGS. Tompkins Die State 1/2. Two
obverse dies and four reverse dies were used to create five die
marriages in 1834, which were used to strike 286,000 pieces. This
near-Gem example is the Browning-4 variety. with stars 8 and 10
recut on the outer points and 34 in the date repunched. Numerous
die cracks encircle the reverse. Amber-gold toning adorns the
sharply struck, lustrous surfaces where only inconsequential
