1834 B-4 Capped Bust Quarter, MS64
Beautifully Toned and Prooflike
1834 25C B-4, R.1, MS64 PCGS. Tompkins Die State 3/4,
heavily cracked, especially on the reverse, but not yet clashed on
the obverse. Star 10 is repunched on this obverse die. This Choice
Mint State example is prooflike and beautifully toned, showing blue
and violet border hues around warm orange-gold interiors. Every
detail is sharply brought up. As a date, the 1834 Capped Bust
quarter is scarce this fine and rare in higher grades. Population:
