1835 B-1 Quarter, MS63
Reflective Fields
1835 25C B-1, R.1, MS63 PCGS. Business strikes of the
Browning-1 die pair are plentiful while proofs are extremely rare
with just two confirmed pieces. This Select Mint State specimen is
not a proof, but it has reflective fields and is likely one of the
earliest pieces struck after the small quantity of proofs were
minted. Despite the common nature of the variety, high grade pieces
are rarely seen and only half a dozen higher grade examples are
known. This Select example displays blue-green, lavender, and
peach-gold toning. We note scattered faint marks on the left
obverse and an inconspicuous fingerprint beneath OF.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23S2, Variety PCGS# 38997, Base PCGS# 5354, GSID# 212970)
