1835 25C B-3, High R.4, VF25 NGC. Tompkins Die State 3/1. A search of our online auction archives did not reveal any Mint State appearances of the very scarce to rare B-3 variety. As of (12/21), the finest certified as B-3 is AU58 at NGC and AU55 at PCGS. This silver-gray representative shows slightly deeper toning on the reverse field. There are no mentionable marks. The shield lines are fully separated. Mintage (all varieties) 1,952,000.From The John W. McCloskey Collection.
