    Splendid Gem 1835 Capped Bust Quarter

    1835 25C MS65 PCGS. B-5, R.3, Die State b. A stellar Gem toned medium gray to the centers combining blue peripheral accents and hints of rose-gold in the fields. Outstanding surface quality expected for the grade. Identifiable by a pair of minute nicks in the field before Liberty's chin and another tick on neck. Sharp on all of Liberty's curls and each of the stars save for star 7, which lacks the central radial lines. This die state includes a straight die crack from the rim through the lower outside point of star 6 through Liberty's head above her eye to the center of star 10. Broadly recut on the letters OF AM to the left. Certainly in the Condition Census for the variety if not the Finest Known for this die pairing. Population: 2 in 65, 2 finer (1/06).(Registry values: P1) (NGC ID# 23S2, PCGS# 5354)
