1836 B-3 Quarter, Lightly Toned MS62
1836 25C B-3, R.1, MS62 NGC. Tompkins Die Stage 5/4, a nearly terminal die state with extensive spidery die cracks throughout each side. Late die state examples of the 1836 quarter are the more usually seen. Golden-brown, violet, blue, and green patina lightly colors this softly lustrous type coin with some silver color remaining. Marks are peppered over each side. The motifs are fairly well-detailed. Census: 7 in 62 (1 in 62 ★ ), 22 finer (11/17).Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23S3, Variety PCGS# 39007, Base PCGS# 5355, GSID# 212980)
