Reverse Die of 1838

1837 25C MS63 PCGS. B-2, R.1. The reverse die was reused in 1838 for the final Capped Bust quarter issue. This Select Mint State piece represents a common variety but it is still in the top 20 for the die pair. Both sides have lustrous ivory surfaces beneath delicate gold and iridescent toning with deep blue-green at the periphery. Population: 16 in 63, 40 finer (3/12).(Registry values: P1)
