Description

1838 25C B-1, R.1, MS62 PCGS. Tompkins Die State 4/5, showing multiple fine die cracks on each side. This Mint State Capped Bust type coin represents the final year of issue for William Kneass's design. Golden-russet toning appears on each side, allowing satiny brilliant areas to shine through. Grade-limiting abrasions are minimal. The central devices are well struck, although select peripheral stars lack centrils.
