1838 25C B-1, R.1, MS63 PCGS. CAC. This was the final year and the final die variety for the Capped Bust quarter type, which was soon to be replaced by the Seated Liberty design. This example is lustrous and essentially untoned, with only the obverse stars lacking bold strike definition. Light clash marks and die cracks are noted, but post-strike surface defects are minimal. Population: 26 in 63, 18 finer (4/14).(Registry values: P2)
