    Description

    Seldom-Seen MS63 1815 Quarter

1815 25C MS63 PCGS. B-1a, R.1. The 1815 is a coin that is in demand by date collectors and those specializing in first year of a design. Only 89,235 quarters were produced in 1815, the first quarters struck since the 220,643 pieces that were produced in 1807 of the old Robert Scot design. This is a well brought up example that is mostly untoned, but close examination reveals a slight overlay of gray patina. There are very few abrasions on either side of this Select example, but there is an obvious grease stain (as struck) in the left obverse field. Population: 13 in 63, 17 finer (4/03).
From the James L. Moore Collection.
