Description
1821 25C B-4, R.3, AU55 PCGS Secure. Tompkins Die State 1/1 without a crack through the E in UNITED. Apple-green toning accompanies the rims, while the remainder of the coin displays lavender and russet shades. The upper stars show softness, but the strike is generally bold. The surfaces are semiprooflike and surprisingly free from marks.Purchased from Dick Osburn, 12/2007, for $2,400; Denis W. Loring Capped Bust Quarter Collection; to the present consignor.
