    Description

1874 Indian Round Half Dollar, BG-1072
MS66 Prooflike, Sole Finest at NGC

1874 50C Indian Round 50 Cents, BG-1072, R.6, MS66 Prooflike NGC. The triangular bowknot and lack of CAL. on the reverse aid in attributing this round 1874-dated Indian round. Smooth luster flows unimpeded over reflective honey-gold surfaces, creating great eye appeal. Diagonal die striations show on the reverse. This piece is considerably finer than the Jay Roe Collection example (Bowers and Merena, 9/2003), which was an MS64 PCGS coin. This is the sole finest at NGC by one grade point, and none compare at PCGS. Census: 1 in 66 Prooflike, 0 finer (11/15).
From The Elbert Henry Gary Collection. (NGC ID# 2C2P, PCGS# 710901)
