    1882 Indian Round Half, BG-1077
    MS64, Single Finest Certified

1882 50C Indian Round 50 Cents, BG-1077, High R.6, MS64 NGC. The very rare BG-1077 was one of the final Period Two varieties struck. It is attributed to the jewelry shop of Nast, Greenzweig & Co., which also struck BG-799CC, BG-892, and BG-966. As of (9/21), NGC has certified only five examples of BG-1077, and the present piece is the single finest graded among that quintet. PCGS has yet to grade any BG-1077 halves above the MS63 level. We conclude that this lot is the single finest BG-1077. The yellow-gold surfaces show only incidental contact. The strike retains the planchet surface near the LA in DOLLAR. Customary for BG-1077, the wreath is incompletely brought up opposite the stars.
