    1875 Indian Octagonal Half Dollar
    BG-948, MS66 Prooflike

    1875 50C Indian Octagonal 50 Cents, BG-948, High R.5, MS66 Prooflike NGC. A scarce C.F. Mohrig issue, struck from shattered dies. The failure of the dies is believed to explain the rarity of this variety overall. This Premium Gem Prooflike example is high end. The strike is sharp save for in the very centers, and the deeply reflective fields emit bright yellow-gold color.
