Description

Elizabeth II palladium "Test Coin B" Maple Leaf Dollar (1 oz) 2005 MS68 PCGS, KM-Unl., Fr-B30. A high-grade test example dating to the issuance of the first North American palladium bullion coinage. This piece is of the variety with the "B" test mark, no 137. Only 144 of this type were struck, the "B" type finished inside the mint, unlike the "A" variety. However, due to technical problems at the Royal Canadian mint, the 'B' blanks did not produce as highly quality of finish as the "A" blanks. Nevertheless, no examples of this variety grade finer at PCGS. APDW 0.9995 oz.
