Finest Certified "Specimen 67" 1921 25 Cents

George V Specimen 25 Cents 1921 SP67 PCGS, Ottawa mint, KM24a. A truly Superb example of this iconic 25 Cent Specimen issue. Excellent eye-appeal, with attractive cabinet toning. The obverse exhibits iridescent reddish patina with blue and gold highlights, while the reverse has reddish-brown, and considerable mint-silver color, with steel-blue around the periphery. The strike is sharply defined and the surfaces free of significant flaws. Only the second Specimen we have offered of this major Specimen rarity, with the first being sold in our April 2014 sale of the Prager Collection of Canadian Specimen Coins. This example is considerably nicer than the Prager coin, and two grades finer than the next nicest of the four known Specimens of this issue. As with the 1921 10 Cents sold earlier, this date was missing from the Pittman, Norweb, and Belzberg Collections in Specimen. A rare opportunity to acquire the absolute finest example, Mint State or Specimen, of this iconic 1921 issue.
