Noteworthy Bank of Montreal / City Bank Mule Penny Overstrike
Province of Canada. Bank of Montreal / City Bank Mule Penny Overstruck on Another Token 1837 MS61 Brown NGC, Br-Unl, PC-2A1. Copper, coinage alignment, 31 mm, 16.51 gm. Reverse die off center to the left. Triple struck over another token of unknown type, with a center grained edge from the undertype. Some letters in the legend are damaged, as made. A remarkable piece and the first we've seen. This has to be one of the strangest of Taylor's "restrikes".Haxby Group 6: As the last lot.
